About Rickie

I started taking pottery classes over 30 years ago and knew from the minute I put my hands on clay that I wanted to be a potter. Since I began potting, my main focus has been on producing functional pottery — pots that are made to be used and enjoyed. My pots range from small to large and are glazed in a wide variety of glazes. I also produce cut and pierced lampshades to compliment my lamp bases.

Our move to Haliburton County was a fortuitous one for my life as a potter. The Haliburton School of The Arts is here and in 1987 I was involved in establishing the Haliburton County Studio Tour which is an annual event that attracts many visitors. I sit on the Board of Directors of the Arts Council of Haliburton County which provides a unified voice for the arts in Haliburton.

Rickie's Studio

My studio and showroom is located in the basement of my home. The convenience of working in my home gave me the opportunity to be a stay at home Mom to four children while establishing my career as a potter. See the Contact page for studio hours and directions.

I work in Cone 6 oxidation and my pots are oven, dishwasher and microwave safe. My pots are designed to give the user many years of enjoyment with proper care.
